Forming faithful leaders for the Church and the world.
Zomba Theological University offers Christ-centred, academically rigorous theological education that equips men and women for transformative ministry across Malawi and beyond.
A community rooted in the Word, reaching toward unity in the faith.
For over four decades, Zomba Theological University has stood as a beacon of theological learning in Malawi — training pastors, evangelists, teachers and lay leaders to serve the body of Christ with wisdom, integrity and compassion.
Our name is drawn from Scripture: “In the beginning was the Word” (John 1:1). Everything we teach flows from that conviction — that God has spoken, and that faithful leaders are formed when the Word shapes both mind and heart.

Stories of transformed lives
ZTU didn't just teach me theology — it formed me as a pastor. The community, the worship and the teaching shaped who I am in ministry today.
The distance-learning pathway allowed me to keep serving my congregation while studying. I graduated better equipped to lead God's people.
As a woman in ministry, the training I received here gave me confidence, depth and a firm biblical foundation for the work ahead.
