About Zomba Theological University

A history written in faithfulness
Founded in 1977, Zomba Theological University has spent more than forty years training men and women for ministry in the heart of Malawi.
What began as a college dedicated to preparing pastors and church workers has grown into a respected institution of theological learning. Generation after generation, ZTU has sent out graduates who now serve as ministers, evangelists, teachers, chaplains and lay leaders throughout Malawi and beyond.
Rooted in the conviction that “in the beginning was the Word” (John 1:1), the university has remained committed to Scripture, to academic excellence, and to the unity of Christ's Church — captured in our motto, “Until we all reach unity in the faith” (Ephesians 4:13).
